From NewsChannel 9: A jury in Bradley County has convicted a man for shooting a bar customer to death 2 and a half years ago.

Charles Franklin Garrett was found guilty of first degree murder for the death of Exavier Rouse in March 2021.

The incident happened at TBOW’s Tavern on Spring Place Road SE in Cleveland in the early morning hours.

Witnesses told police Garrett came into the bar and started causing problems.

Garrett got into a fight with a TBOW’s Tavern employee.

During that fight, Exavier Rouse, who was a bar customer, was shot. He later died at Tennova Hospital.

Garrett fled the scene, but deputies later located him at Spring Lake Apartments.

The jury also convicted Garrett of attempted first degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and using a firearm during a dangerous felony.

A judge sentenced Garrett to life in prison. He’ll be sentenced on the other charges at a later date.
