From Local 3 News: The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office arrested 18-year-old Kheir Matut following an investigation into a string of auto burglaries.

 

Deputies say a firearm and a 2021 Nissan Rogue SUV were stolen during the incidents.

 

On December 4, the investigation began when deputies responded to nine different auto burglaries in northern Bradley County. Detectives identified Matut as the suspect and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

 

On December 8, Matut was apprehended by the Chattanooga Police Department and later transported to the Bradley County Jail.

 

Court records show that Matut is charged with attempted first degree murder, evading arrest and theft of a vehicle in a separate case in Hamilton County.

 

He was booked on nine charges of auto burglary, theft over $10,000 and theft of one firearm at the Bradley County Jail where he remains without bond.

 

The sheriff’s office is working to learn others who may have been involved.
