The Cleveland Bradley County Public Library has turned 100 this year.

You can help celebrate by participating in one of many events being hosted by the library as it celebrates its centennial birthday.

A statement posted on the library’s Facebook page stated “ We believe libraries are the heart and soul of a community as places where all citizens are welcome to pursue their interests, expand their ideas, learn new skills, and enhance their quality of life. We are honored to have the support of the city, county, and state!”

On January 8, 1923, a Resolution was adopted by the Mayor and Aldermen of Cleveland acknowledging the gift of the magnificent home at 833 North Ocoee Street by the children and grandchildren of Mrs. Sarah A. Johnston.

The Library’s grand opening day ceremony was held on September 3, 1923.
