Bradley County Schools released a statement yesterday afternoon on a smoke incident at Walker Valley High School.

At 2:00 PM, staff discovered smoke coming from a blower motor of an air conditioning unit on the roof by the cafeteria.

No fire was present but out of caution, emergency services, including the local fire department, were notified and were on the scene to assess the situation.

As a precautionary measure, the school was evacuated, but students were able to return to classes a short time later.
