From the Cleveland Daily Banner: A former Dollar Tree employee is suspected of embezzling more than $9,000 from the discount store, according to a Cleveland Police Department incident report.
On July 26, a company representative told police the former employee at the Treasury Drive location had “stolen money from the store” by “taking bank deposit bags.” The act was recorded on surveillance cameras, according to the report.
When the former employee opened the store, the money was removed from the safe, but not deposited.
Dollar Tree made the discovery in June and terminated the employee. The thefts, which totaled $9,424, occurred on May 26 and June 6, according to the incident report.
