From the Tennessean: Severe storms marched through Middle Tennessee overnight Friday into Saturday morning, triggering thunderstorms and tornado warnings, even in our local area.

The National Weather Service announced Sunday morning that the long-track tornado that swept through Wayne, Lewis, McNairy, and Hardin counties was likely an EF-2 tornado.

The tornado traveled about 38 miles in about 40 minutes at 130 mph wind speeds. It measured about half a mile wide.

One person was injured by this tornado.

Survey teams from the National Weather Service will also be in Marshall, Rutherford, Cannon, and Macon counties to look for evidence of a second tornado there.

There were only minor injuries associated with this storm, but the town of Readyville in Rutherford County suffered major damage. There were 10 homes destroyed and over 30 with damages.
