McCallie School in Chattanooga has announced that all staff and age-eligible students will be required to get the Covid-19 vaccine ahead of the 2021-22 school year.

Head of School Lee Burns said that having campus-wide immunizations will allow the school to lift many of the restrictions put in place due to Covid-19, like mask use.

This spring McCallie held two vaccination clinics on campus, and most faculty and staff, as well as a large percentage of upper-grade students have been vaccinated.

The school will offer another on-campus vaccination clinic on May 20, and plans others over the next few months.

Under new FDA and CDC guidelines, students 12 years old and higher are eligible for COVID vaccinations.
