From Local 3 News: The Collegedale Police Department announced that 93-year-old Martha Claire Burns passed away in the hospital following a traffic crash they responded to on December 28.
The incident happened at the intersection of Apison Pike and McDonald Road at 9:34AM, involving a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and Burns’ 1999 Ford Escort station wagon, officials say.
Burns’ passed away on New Years morning from injuries she got in the crash.
Investigators are still looking into the circumstances of the crash.
