The Bradley County Commission met last night.
3rd District Commissioner and Finance Chairman Milan Blake announced the Finance Committee will meet next Monday, April 1st, to start the budget request reviews for the budget process.
1st District Commissioner Mike Hughes commented on a vote from last week’s meeting to table a resolution authorizing the mayor to negotiate a written agreement with the city on a property exchange. Hughes clarified that he made the motion for several reasons, including letting the fire committee and building/land committee fully consider the matter and the options.
He announced that the committees met earlier in the day and proposed the Minnis Road site for a new fire garage and voted to recommend taking his resolution from last week’s meeting off the table.
Instead, the committees voted to recommend that the county exchange the Inman Street Fire/Rescue facility to the city if the city agrees to build the new fire facility for the county on Minnis Road.
The item was added to the April 1st meeting agenda.
County offices will be closed in observance of Good Friday.
The next commission meeting will be held on Monday, April 1st.
