The Bradley County Commission met last night.

 

Mayor Gary Davis announced the resignation of Mike Garren, the current Director of Bradley County EMS.

 

Mayor Davis also announced that Adam Lewis will be stepping into the role of Interim Director of Bradley County EMS effective immediately. 

 

The search for a permanent Director of Bradley County EMS will begin in the near future. Further details regarding the search will be announced once the process has been finalized.

 

Dr. Jerry Devayne will be the Medical Director for Ambulance Services. Devayne has held the position before and is coming out of retirement to fill the position once more.

 

The Mayor also brought forth a motion to appoint Dr Tyler McCurry to the Medical Examiner Position. The position is a 5-year term— the resolution passed unanimously. 

 

3rd District Commissioner, Milan Blake put forth a motion from a Finance Committee recommendation to add additional funding for an emergency shelter that will cost more than was appropriated. The resolution stipulates that the City of Cleveland matches the overage amount. The resolution passed. 

 

A Resolution was presented authorizing the mayor to negotiate a written agreement with the city of Cleveland to exchange property located at Inman Street for the city agreeing to construct a fire facility on property owned by the county on Minnis Road. The Resolution also calls for a written agreement that must be submitted to the County Commission for final approval. The resolution passed unanimously.
