MONDAY, JULY 3

— Chattanooga will have a fireworks show after the Lookouts game against the Tennessee Smokies at AT&T Field, 201 Power Alley. Gates open at 5 p.m., and the first pitch is at 6:15 p.m. Tickets cost $6-$11. Find more information at milb.com/chattanooga.

 

— Collegedale will host its annual Freedom Festival from 4-9:30 p.m. The celebration will feature food vendors, live music, children’s activities including inflatables and a foam party. The Ain’t Just Whistlin Dixie band will perform live at 5:30 p.m., the Amber Carrington Band will perform at 6:45 p.m. and the East Tennessee Symphony Orchestra will conclude the musical performances at 8 p.m. The fireworks show is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. Find more information at collegedaletn.gov.

 

— Fort Payne, Alabama, will start its annual Independence Day fireworks show at 8:45 p.m. CDT at the Fort Payne Sports Complex, 101 45th St. NE. No additional activities are scheduled due to renovations at the complex. The fireworks will be set up near the Little Ridge Intermediate School. MONDAY-TUESDAY, JULY 3-4

— Sewanee, Tennessee, will have a Fourth of July celebration over two days with most festivities taking place July 4. There will be a street dance, live music and family fun from 6-10 p.m. CDT on Monday at Angel Park and on University Avenue. The July 4 activities include morning yoga, an arts and crafts fair, a parade, a concert and an aerial demonstration (weather permitting). TUESDAY, JULY 4

— Athens, Tennessee, will host a large fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. at Athens Regional Park, 2405 Decatur Pike. The park will be open for normal operating hours. Find more information on the event’s Facebook page.

 

— Chattanooga will have a Chilling and Milling event beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Jewish Cultural Center, 5461 N. Terrace Road. The center, funded by the Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga, is offering an air-conditioned, indoor alternative to the usual July 4 celebrations. The event will feature summer foods such as chicken barbeque, potato salad and coleslaw with desserts. Live music will be performed by local band Triple L Trio. While there, take a look around the center’s current exhibition “Jews, Blues and All That Jazz,” which features works by Tom Farnam and other local artists. — Chattanooga will have the annual Red, White and Blue Day from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Creative Discovery Museum, 321 Chestnut St. The day will feature themed activities and crafts including glitter gel fireworks, straw rockets and a 21 geyser salute with Diet Coke and Mentos. — Chattanooga will have a Fun on the Fourth celebration starting at 2 p.m. at Miller Park, 928 Market St. The event will feature carnival games, a ferris wheel, vintage cars, a variety of vendors, plenty of food and beverages available for purchase and live music throughout the day. — Cleveland, Tennessee, will have a fireworks show around 9:15 p.m. at Bradley Square Mall, 200 Paul Huff Parkway NW. The show, presented by Mt. Olive Ministries and sponsored by Cleveland Ford and the city of Cleveland, will have its launch site at the Perry Stone Ministries building adjacent to the mall. Mix 104.1 FM will play a synchronized music presentation during the show. The ring road behind the mall will be closed before and after the fireworks, and the mall building will impede the line of sight. The best parking for viewing is on the east side of the mall. — Dalton, Georgia, will have an all-day celebration beginning at 10 a.m. at Heritage Point Park, 1275 Cross Plains Trail. Events during the day include an old-timers softball game, a Little Miss Dalton Pageant, a cornhole tournament, two live bands, vendors and a fireworks show to start after dark. Events will take place at Heritage Point Park and Burr Performing Arts Park, 101 S. Hamilton St., throughout the day. — Decatur, Tennessee, will host an Independence Day edition of Downtown Summer Nights, a free summer concert series, featuring live music performances by Chad Yates and Aunt Betty starting at 7 p.m. at the Downtown Stage, 116 N. — Dunlap, Tennessee, will have an all-day Independenc Day celebration beginning at 9 a.m. CDT at Harris Park, 245 Cedar St. The day will include a parade, food vendors, a mechanical bull, children’s activities, a dunk tank, a petting zoo and live music performances throughout the day. — Etowah, Tennessee, will have an all-day Fourth of July celebration full of events starting with a 5k run and a one mile fun run/walk both beginning at 7:30 a.m at Capstar Bank, 523 Tennessee Ave. There will also be a pancake breakfast, children’s beauty pageant, cornhole tournament and live music at the L&N Depot, 727 Tennessee Ave. The fireworks show is scheduled for 9:45 p.m. Find more information on the Etowah Fourth of July Facebook page.

 

— Henagar, Alabama, will have its annual Sand Mountain Potato Festival, a community tradition since 1983, beginning with an Independence Day parade at 10 a.m. starting at Limon’s Mexican Restaurant, 50 Lloyd Crye Drive, and ending at Henagar City Park, 18294 AL-75. The all-day celebration will feature a cruise in with vintage cars and motorcycles, pony rides, a cornhole tournament, a volleyball tournament, craft and food vendors, live music and much more. — Rossville, Georgia, will have fireworks at 10 p.m. at Lake Winnie Amusement Park, 1730 Lakeview Drive. The park will be open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. SoakYa water attractions will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Online tickets for guests, ages 3 to 59, cost $41.95 to get into both parks, tickets for guests 2 and younger or 60 and older must be purchased at the gate. — Scottsboro, Alabama, will have a Fourth of July celebration starting at 6 p.m. at the Goose Pond Colony Resort, 417 Ed Hembree Drive. There will be food and beverages available for purchase. — Signal Mountain will have its annual Fourth of July BBQ hosted by the Signal Mountain Lions Club. Festivities will begin with a parade at 9 a.m. that starts at Old Town Alexian and ends at Althaus Park, 809 James Blvd., where the rest of the festivities will take place. Food options will include barbeque, hamburgers, hot dogs and funnel cakes. There will also be live music and a bounce house, face painting and balloon magic. — Trenton, Georgia, will have its annual 1945 Dade County Fair to celebrate Independence Day. The opening ceremonies will begin at noon at Jenkins Park on Price Street. Events include a car show, watermelon and Moon Pie eating contests, redneck games, live music and vendors. Some events have a required entrance fee for participation.
