Unemployment rates still low for most Tennessee counties

Unemployment rates in most Tennessee counties remained below five percent in October, according to newly released county data from the Department

Unemployment rates in most Tennessee counties remained below five percent in October, according to newly released county data from the Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

 

Tennessee’s seasonally adjusted statewide unemployment rate in October was 3.3 percent.

 

Locally, Bradley County’s unemployment rate rose 1 tenth of a percentage point from September to 3.8%

 

Polk County also rose a tenth of a percentage point to 4%.

 

McMinn and Rhea County both rose 2 tenths of a percentage point to 4.5%

 

And Meigs County had the highest unemployment rate at 5.4%.

 

The state of Tennessee will release statewide unemployment data for November on Thursday, Dec. 21st.
