Cleveland residents have an opportunity to express opinions about the future of their city.

The city’s first Citizen Community Survey is being circulated now. A series of public information meetings is being conducted now, one in each municipal district. Information about the survey and upcoming projects will be available at these meetings. Representatives of the city will be available at each session.

The series of meetings will end with a general public forum at the Museum Center at Five Points on February 15 at 3 p.m.

From the Cleveland Daily Banner…
No bond has been set for the man accused of shooting a fleeing suspect at the Bradley County Landfill last year, though it was argued that his lack of criminal history and service as a veteran showed him not to be a flight risk.

Mark Steven Treuchet, 53, was working for a local contracting company preparing a new cell at the landfill when the incident reportedly occurred on Sept. 8.  Treuchet was reported to have shot Jeremy Headley once at the landfill. Until court proceedings occur, the reason for Treuchet having a firearm in his possession will not be released.

During Tuesday’s arraignment hearing, no bond was set for Treuchet, and he will next appear at a status hearing in front of Judge Sandra Doneghy on March 6. He will remain at the Bradley County Justice Center until that time.
