From NewsChannel 9: UPDATE:

A Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office spokesman tells us the chase began on Birchwood Pike, and investigators believe the suspect was also involved in an earlier chase in Bradley County.

Spokesman Matt Lea says two HCSO vehicles were damaged during the chase, but no deputies were hurt.

The driver’s name is not being released at this time and illegal substances were recovered from the vehicle,’ Lea says.

 

EARLIER:

We’re working to learn more about a police chase that began in Hamilton County and ended in front of McMinn County High School in Athens Thursday morning.

 

The chase began at around 9 a.m. in Hamilton County.

 

It went up Highway 58 into Meigs County, and continued into McMinn County.

 

The chase ended on State Highway 11, in front of McMinn County High School.

Right now, we don’t know the reason for the chase, but we’re working to learn more details.
