From WATE: One person was arrested after allegedly attempting to light a bar in Sweetwater on fire in the early morning hours of Wednesday, according to Monroe County Sheriff Tommy Jones.
Jones posted on social media Thursday, saying deputies were dispatched to the Black Bull Tavern on Old Highway 68 in Sweetwater for an attempted attempted arson.
During the deputies’ investigation, they identified a male suspect and took him into custody. Jones said it was later determined that the suspect attempted to set the business on fire.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Bomb and Arson Unit assisted with the investigation.
