From the Cleveland Daily Banner…

The sentencing for convicted murderer Jody Hughes has been delayed until October, according to Bradley County Criminal Court records.

Hughes was convicted of first-degree murder in May, along with other charges of kidnapping, tampering with evidence and conspiracy to tamper with evidence.

The 10th Judicial District Attorney’s office said it would not seek the death penalty for Hughes, but he still faces life in prison without parole for the murder conviction.

Sentencing for Hughes, accused of killing Tyler Worth of Cleveland, had been set for Aug. 4th, but a decision  was reached in court Friday to delay the sentencing until Oct. 9th. Hughes remains represented by attorney Winton Marble. Hughes is presently in the custody of the Tennessee Department of Corrections.
