Western Sizzlin in Ooltewah closed permanently Sunday night. An employee confirmed the closure to Channel 3.
In March, an employee at the restaurant was diagnosed with hepatitis A. A sign on the door explains that since the diagnosis was announced, “patronage has since declined to unstainable business operations at this location.”
The restaurant also thanked their “loyal customers” and apologized to the Ooltewah community.

The Mix 104-1 home and garden show, presented by People’s Home Equity, was a big success Saturday. Held at the Museum in downtown Cleveland, more than 1,000 people came out to get information about their homes and remodeling projects, win great prizes, and enjoy great food and fellowship. Radio station owner Steve Hartline said they are already looking forward to next year!

Tim Siniard reports: Cleveland Mayor Kevin Brooks says the city’s soon-to-be-unveiled master plan will include an amphitheater, which will be located behind the Museum Center downtown.
Brooks made his remarks during a speech at the Cleveland Media Association’s luncheon Friday at the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce.
While Brooks was unable to give a sneak peak of the artist’s rendering of the proposed venue, Brooks said he has seen the graphic, which is still undergoing design revisions by WSP, U.S.A., the civil engineering firm hired by the Cleveland City Council to develop a master plan for the city’s downtown redevelopment initiative.
Brooks said the amphitheater resembles Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater.
In addition, Brooks said an indoor sports complex is planned for downtown.
While Brooks said the indoor sports complex is still a dream, he said the addition of such a venue would be an important addition to Cleveland’s downtown. He said City Manager Joe Fivas, as well as another city employee, have had experience constructing sports complexes in cities where they were previously employed.

Autumn Hughes reports: Commissioners in five of Bradley County’s seven civil districts are holding constituent meetings beginning later this week. The purpose of the meetings is to share priorities discussed recently by the Bradley County Commission and to hear feedback from local residents.
At a recent meeting, commissioners reviewed a list of priorities ranging from salaries to infrastructure to reducing debt.
While commissioners in the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th districts are planning to hold constituent meetings, the 1st and 2nd district commissioners are not.
Dates for district meetings are: • 3rd District – Thursday, April 18, at 6 p.m., at Ocoee Middle School. Commissioners Milan Blake and Johnny Mull will host the meeting. • 4th District – Tuesday, April 9, at 6 p.m. at Park View Elementary School. Commissioners Charlotte Peak and Howard Thompson will host the meeting. “You don’t have to be in our district to be there,” Thompson said. • 5th District – Wednesday, April 17, at 6 p.m., at the Inman Street Fire Station. Commissioners Bobby Goins and Jeff Yarber will host the meeting. • 6th District – Tuesday, April 16, at 6 p.m., at Waterville Community School. Commissioners Erica Davis and Tim Mason will host the meeting. • 7th District – Thursday, April 18, at 6 p.m., at the Westmore Element building on Legacy Drive. Commissioner Kevin Raper and Bill Winters will host the meeting.
