WCLE is the first to break the news that Dr. Russell Dyer, current Director of Cleveland City Schools, is one of the top three finalists for the Superintendent position in Collierville Tennessee.
Dr. Dyer released a statement to WCLE, which read in part…
“Today I was notified that I have been named a finalist for the Superintendent opening in Collierville Schools. Collierville Schools is located in West Tennessee and is the school system where I was employed prior to moving to Cleveland.
I have a heart for Cleveland and I am forever grateful for the opportunity to serve this fantastic community. We have a wonderful school board, and the best teachers, administrators, students, and staff you could wish for in a school system. This community has great leadership and the beauty of the area is unmatched. The opportunity that has opened in Collierville is one, however, that I personally feel must be explored. Collierville also is a community I feel strongly about and the thought of potentially finishing my career where I started my career is something I simply can’t ignore. My family is also in West Tennessee which also plays into this decision. I remain 150% dedicated to my current job and to this community as long as I remain the Director of Schools. ”
