The Bradley County Commission met on Monday.

 

Mayor Gary Davis gave a report to commissioners on the Septic Repair Program. So far, 89 contracts have been signed and 53 projects have been completed from the original program funding. 18 contracts have been signed and 2 projects have been completed from additional money allocated to the program by the County Commission. 

 

A final version of the budget was handed to Commissioners. The new budget contains no increase in property tax rates. Commissioners will vote on the budget on July 3rd. 

 

6th District Commissioner Tim Mason gave a report from the Road Committee. The committee voted to recommend accepting the Road Superintendent’s recommendation to approve Hardwick Way which will be a 1245-foot road project between Urbane Rd and the First Baptist Property. The recommendation will need to be approved by the entire commission and has been placed on the July 3rd agenda. 

 

1ST District Commissioner Daniel Beaty also placed on the next voting session agenda for Commissioners to consider changing the Cannery hours to 6 am -2 pm and to allow individuals from other counties to use the cannery. 

 

6th District Commissioner Tommy Ledford also placed a resolution opposing red flag laws in Tennessee on the July 3rd Agenda. 

 

The next Meeting of the Commission is Monday, July 3rd at noon.
