From the Cleveland Daily Banner: A man was airlifted by Life Force to Erlanger Hospital after he was struck by a vehicle on South Lee Highway on Thursday, according to a Cleveland Police Department incident report.

The incident occurred in the 1300 block of South Lee Highway near Smith Drive at approximately 5:04 p.m.

Police said the driver of a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox, whose age and identity were redacted from the report, told police she was driving home and entered the turn lane to make a left on Smith Drive.

“She stated she could not see due to the sun shining in her eyes, and she struck a pedestrian,” police said.

The 51-year-old man, who was also not identified in the report, suffered a head injury, as well as an injury to his left leg.

He was transported by EMS to Bradley Central High School, where he was airlifted by Life Force.

The vehicle driver was cited for driving without a license and financial responsibility. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot.

Police said a parent picked her up and took her home.
