In news today…

Life Care Center of Athens reports as of June 8th, their facility is currently COVID-19 free. All residents have been tested for COVID-19 and, whether they tested positive or negative, are checked for symptoms multiple times per day. If any resident who tested negative begins showing symptoms, they will be retested. Currently, 65 residents who previously tested positive for COVID-19 have met the strict health department and CDC guidelines for recovery and no longer require precautions. Also, as of June 8th, testing has been made available to all associates. Forty-nine associates who previously tested positive have recovered and returned to work after meeting strict health department and CDC guidelines for doing so. The status of three associates who previously tested positive is pending. They are currently not working and will not return to work until meeting the guidelines for doing so.

Also in news today…

The Bradley County Commission met Monday with a light agenda. The finance committee met and changed a few items in the 2020-21 budget including the 599 Budget, Election Commission Budget, and Postal Budget. 

In news today…

The Cleveland City Council also met Monday and several announcements were made regarding reopening of recreational facilities. City playgrounds will reopen this Saturday, June 13th. Also, the Mosby Park Swimming Pool will reopen on June 19th, at 100% capacity. The new Pickle Ball courts at Tinsley Park are scheduled for a grand opening on June 26th, but the public may be able to use them as soon as next week. In addition, the Norman Chapel Road project is scheduled to be completed by the end of June.
