The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into a Tuesday morning incident in which the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team entered the wrong house in search of a homicide suspect.
10th Judicial District Attorney General Steve Crump confirmed Wednesday morning he has asked TBI to investigate the incident.
Crump stated he would not comment further on the matter, but would at some point after the investigation is complete. Like Crump, the sheriff’s office has little to say about the incident, which occurred at a home on Lynncrest Drive in Cleveland, east of the intersection of Stuart Road and Michigan Avenue.
While law enforcement officials have little to say about the incident, a resident of the home that was mistakenly breached by the SWAT team has been vocal, posting about the incident on his public Facebook page.
In his Facebook post, Spencer Renck stated that the Bradley County and Hamilton County SWAT teams burst into his home. However, BCSO spokesman James Bradford said the Hamilton County’s Sheriff’s Office was not involved in the incident.

Jackson is a former multi-sport athlete who played professional football in the NFL and Major League Baseball simultaneously, and was the first athlete named an All-Star in both sports.
