Tennessee’s statewide unemployment rate held steady at 3.3% in May, according to newly released data from the Department of Labor and Workforce Development. That number is unchanged from the state’s unemployment rate in April.

 

The unemployment rate increased in 94 counties and decreased in 1 county.

 

Locally, Bradley County’s unemployment rate was 3.5 up 7 tenths of a percentage point from 2.8 percent in April. 

 

McMinn County was at 4 % up 4 tenths of a percentage point from 3.6 in April. 

 

DAYTON was at 4.2% unemployment, up 8 tenths of a percentage point from 3.4% in April.

 

Polk County was at 3.9%, up 7 tenths of a percentage point from 3.2% in April. 

 

Meigs was at 4.3% down 3 tenths of a percentage point, from 4.6% in April.
