From Local 3 News: Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett agreed to a plea deal in court on Thursday, following a DUI arrest in June of this year.

A Class A misdemeanor, Hargett received a sentence of 48 hours in jail, which was already served, nearly a year of probation, and will only be able to drive on a restricted license for one year.

Hargett was elected by the Tennessee General Assembly to serve as Tennessee’s 37th Secretary of State in 2009, and was re-elected in 2013, 2017, and 2021.
