From the Chattanooga Times Free Press: A single-engine plane on Wednesday morning crashed at Chattanooga Airport and injured two people on board, according to airport and emergency officials.

The plane ended up in a grassy area near the airport’s main runway shortly after 10 a.m. There were no fuel leaks, the Chattanooga Fire Department said in a news release.

Two passengers were removed from the plane by airport fire and police. Chattanooga firefighters assisted airport first responders with preparing the patients for transport to an area hospital.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. The runway was closed for a period of time but has reopened, officials said.
