Yesterday, Charleston Elementary STEAM Academy Principal Kirk Campbell announced the creation of the Haney-Hill Closet Fund.

This fund will help support students in need at Charleston. Campbell said, “Our teachers and staff not only educate our students but look to provide for their needs as if they are their own children. We are blessed and thankful for the continued support of families such as Billy and Emma Sue Haney and Ron and Kay Hill. These two families and so many others have played a crucial part in supporting our school for many years. The creation of the Haney-Hill Closet will continue their legacy of giving to impact families in need.” Principal Campbell stated.

Billy Haney’s daughter Connie Hayden echoed Principal Campbell’s thoughts saying quote “The Haney family is so honored to be able to carry on the legacy of Billy Haney. He truly believed in Charleston School, and our community, and was always ready to help. This project will greatly benefit Charleston’s kids, and we hope others will feel led to contribute.”

Ron Hill’s cousin Steven Shelton stated, “I was fortunate to be able to attend Charleston from kindergarten through graduation, so I was able to witness firsthand the impact men such as Billy (Haney), Ronnie (Hill), and others had on our school. Unfortunately, like many others, these two men are no longer with us, so I believe it is our duty to carry on their legacy and spirit of giving through the example they left us.”
