From the Cleveland Daily Banner: A Halloween Boat N’ Treat will be held for the second year in Charleston on Saturday, Oct. 28, in the Hoyt Berry Municipal Park.

The event is similar to trunk-or-treat candy giveaways. The Boat N’ Treat provides a safe environment for children whose parents may feel trick-or-treating in neighborhoods can be dangerous.

The Boat N’ Treat is sponsored by the Charleston Recreation Board and will be from 5-8 p.m., with a movie being shown at the end of the day.

There will be free popcorn at the movie.

Something new for this year is a scavenger hunt. It will be limited to the first 15 families who enter the competition.

Boat owners participating in the event will decorate their vessels for Halloween and hand out candy.

There is no charge to attend the Boat N’ Treat, but boaters who plan to participate should contact the Charleston Recreation Board.
