From News 12: A motorcyclist involved in a crash over the weekend has died from his injuries, according to Chattanooga Police.

 

The wreck happened on Saturday, October 14 at around 10 a.m. It was on I-24 eastbound, at mile marker 172. This is near a rest stop in Lookout Valley.

 

Officers arrived to find the motorcycle driver who crashed to have serious injuries.

An ambulance then took the driver, a 44-year-old man, to the hospital.

 

According to police, the motorcyclist was approaching stopped traffic and swerved to avoid hitting a vehicle. At that point, they say he lost control of the motorcycle and crashed.

 

Chattanooga Police learned that the driver of the motorcycle died from those injuries on October 16.

 

They did not identify the driver of the motorcycle.

 

Their traffic unit is still investigating the incident.
