The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of an accident on Friday evening at North Lee Highway and Bellfounte Road regarding a vehicle versus a motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to Tennova Healthcare, but passed away shortly after arrival.

Initially, the deceased male was not identified to media pending the notification of his next of kin. Since then, the driver of the motorcycle was identified as Jakob Ryan Davis, age 21, of Ocoee, Tennessee.

The accident occurred around 9:30PM Friday evening, and as of news time, information about the vehicle involved in the accident had not been released, pending the ongoing investigation.

Travis Anthony Grissom (AT LARGE)

A vehicle pursuit Friday evening resulted in the arrest of two subjects, and detectives issuing warrants for a third subject for their involvement in a motor vehicle theft.

Earlier Friday, the Bradley County 911 Communications Center was alerted by a caller regarding a vehicle that was stolen earlier from Love’s Truck Stop in Charleston. Once deputies located the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle accelerated speed and evaded. Deputies followed the vehicle and were eventually able to get it stopped on Highway 64. at the One Stop Shop. The driver and two passengers immediately fled on foot, but deputies were able to apprehend both passengers after a brief foot-chase. During further investigation, deputies discovered the tag on the vehicle had been altered by making two “3”s as “8”s, and confirmed the vehicle was stolen earlier that day.

Christopher Ryan Suits

The driver of the vehicle, Travis Anthony Grissom, 25, was never located, and detectives have issued criminal warrants for his arrest. Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Grissom, who is wanted on the following criminal charges;

  • Theft over $2,500
  • Felony Evading Arrest
  • Alteration of a Vehicle Tag

Kaitlyn Ashlee Mitchell

Both passengers inside the vehicle were later identified as Christopher Ryan Suits and Kaitlyn Ashlee Mitchell who faces several criminal charges. Both face charges of Theft over $2,500 as well as evading. Ms. Mitchell also faces charges of alteration of a vehicle tag.

Cleveland launched a new series of free summer entertainment plus a new downtown arts destination Friday evening.

Mainstreet Cleveland, Allied Arts Council of the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce and city planners opened the Back Alley Gallery. The alley links First and Second Streets behind Craigmiles Hall. Anyone walking through the alley can open the doors. Behind each door is a work of art.

After a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Back Alley Gallery, the downtown crowd’s attention turned to the Bradley County Courthouse Square.

Sponsored by Wacker, the first in a series of summer First Friday Festivals concerts sounded off. The series’ first band was local favorite Convertibull. The band packed many old time rock and roll numbers into an hour.

The crowd enjoyed a row of food vendors, inflatables and face painting for children.

During the intermission, storyteller Judy Baker entertained festival goers gathered around her.

The festival ended with a performance by The Entice Band, a Nashville area band.

First Friday Festivals continue July 7 and August 4.
