Harrison Pike near the Mount Olive Community Center has been shut down for an undetermined amount of time due to the culvert that is in danger of collapsing. There is now a 5-mile detour for traffic traveling that area, which requires taking White Oak Road to Rollins Ridge, then White Oak Valley, back to Harrison Pike. It is expected for this closure to last months while the construction work is completed by the Tennessee Department of Transportation.

A man wanted on a murder charge in northwest Georgia has been arrested in East Tennessee, a sheriff said.

Brandon Wiseman, 35, was taken into custody Monday night after being found in an abandoned home in Helenwood, Scott County Sheriff Ronnie Phillips told news outlets. His office, U.S. Marshals, agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and several local officers were involved in capturing Wiseman, Phillips said.

Wiseman is wanted on a murder charge in a fatal shooting that took place near Chatsworth, Georgia, on Sunday, according to authorities there.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether Wiseman has an attorney.

The Chattanooga Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a vehicle involved in a fatal accident on Christmas Eve.

Police said they are looking for a vehicle described as a light-colored Ford F-150, model year 2004-2008, with a possible camper top and driver side damage, according to a news release. The vehicle allegedly struck a cyclist around 12:34 a.m. on Friday.

The 57-year-old cyclist was traveling eastbound in the second lane of Interstate 24 when a vehicle struck the man and left. Chattanooga police responded to the crash near Exit 181 and Old Ringgold Road. Hamilton County EMS was called to the scene and pronounced the man dead.
