One man was killed in an overnight shooting outside of a bar in Dalton, Georgia on Sunday.

According to a City of Dalton spokesperson, the shooting happened in the parking lot of the Oyster Pub bar at 933 Market Street around 2:30 a.m.

Preliminary information indicates that there was a dispute or fight inside of the bar that led to an argument and disturbance outside in the parking lot.

During the disturbance, shots were fired and the victim, identified as 28-year-old Rashad Goldston of Cleveland, Tennessee, was hit in the back, apparently while in his vehicle.

Goldston tried to flee, but his car crashed a short distance away, near a Dollar Tree, flipping onto its side.

When officers arrived at the scene, the shooter was already gone and officers found a nurse who was on scene attending to Goldston.
