From the Cleveland Daily Banner…

Tim Siniard reports: A nearly half-decade old murder case involving claims alleging blackmail, withholding evidence, adulterous trysts, secret audio recordings, and judicial recusals is heading back to court.

Today, 10th Judicial District Attorney General Steve Crump will appear as a witness in a hearing to overturn the second-degree murder conviction of Miranda Cheatham, who in 2019 received an 18-year sentence for the October 2016 shooting death of her husband, James “Tooter” Cheatham.

Currently incarcerated in the West Tennessee State Penitentiary in Henning, she began serving her sentence in April 2019.

She’s hoping the hearing, which will convene at 9 a.m. today in the Bradley County Juvenile Court, will result in her acquittal or a motion for a new trial.

Tennessee Senior Judge Don R. Ash, the third judge selected after two others recused themselves, will preside during today’s hearing.

We will have LIVE coverage of the hearing on Mix TV at mymix1041.com.
