Contract crews with the Tennessee Department of Transportation will close two lanes on Interstate 75 South to repair damaged concrete slabs this weekend.

The section to be repaired is between East Brainerd Road near mile marker three and the intersection with I-24 near mile marker two.

The two left lanes will be closed, while the two right lanes will remain open.

The work will begin on Friday, May 21 at 9 p.m. and end by or before 6 a.m. on Monday, May 24.

Crews will remove damaged concrete slabs and re-pour them with new concrete, which will require several hours to develop enough strength to carry traffic.

As soon as the concrete cures enough to pass strength tests, all lanes will reopen to traffic.
