From NewsChannel 9: Grass fires resulted in eight acres of land burned in McMinn County on Monday.
Authorities say at around 2:30 p.m., multiple grass fires happened at the same time.
They say the cause of the fires is unclear at this time.
The responding agencies included Englewood Rural Fire, Etowah Fie Rescue, Athens Rural Fire, Claxton Fire and Athens City Fire Departments.
The McMinn County Sheriff’s Office also helped control traffic at the scene.
