An altercation between two inmates Tuesday at the Bradley County Jail resulted in injuries to one inmate.

Bradley County Sheriff’s Office public information officer Brian Graves confirmed that Life Force was at the jail; however, due to Federal HIPPA privacy laws, no further information can be released.

In addition, according to media reports, a female inmate at the jail attempted to harm herself. The incident occurred Wednesday. According to information learned from a Bradley County 911 Center dispatch, a jail employee told a dispatcher that the woman had attempted to hang herself, prior to jumping off a bunk and inuring her feet. She had been placed on suicide watch earlier, reports said. According to reports, the woman was conscious, but in a confused state.

The woman was transported by ambulance to an area hospital.

A former Tunnel Hill Police Officer pleaded guilty on Thursday to taking money from the department.

Scott Reneau pleaded to six counts of Theft by Taking and six counts Violation of Office by a Public Official.

The case involved missing money and weapons that had been seized by the Tunnel Hill Police Department. The GBI began investigating in March of 2016.

Reneau will have to pay back more than $37,000.He was sentenced to 15 years, but will only serve five of them in confinement.

Cleveland City Mayoral Candidates 24th district Representative Kevin Brooks and Duane Schriver met once again at a forum yesterday at the Kiwanis Club in Cleveland. Various issues were discussed. The duties and powers of the mayor were discussed, including whether or not to make it a full time position, and to grant voting rights on the council. Also discussed were future visions for downtown Cleveland. In addition, transportation and parking issues downtown were discussed, as well as a possible interstate exit at Harrison Pike, and reactions to legislative initiatives to roll back or abolish various taxes.
