Former Tenth Judicial District Attorney General Jerry Estes has returned to the post as District Attorney for a temporary period to fill the position vacated by present DA Steve Crump.

The emergency order of designation was issued by Criminal Court Judge Sandra Donaghy Friday afternoon. Estes will assume the role of District Attorney General pro tem effective at 12:01 a.m. Monday, July 17, “to serve until such time as the Governor acts and appoints a new District Attorney General for the Tenth Judicial District of Bradley County, McMinn County, Monroe County and Polk County.”
