From News 12: A federal grand jury indicted a man from Lookout Mountain on charges of transporting minors to engage in sexual activity with them.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said 71-year-old James Coleman Thompson is in custody awaiting his trial in the U.S. District Court.

But now, the FBI is now trying to identify more of Thompson’s victims.

Authorities said Thompson victimized boys between the ages of 10 and 15, who may have been involved in various youth wrestling and hunting programs. The FBI said the victimization could have happened between the 1990s until the present.

On June 5, a grand jury indicted Thompson on three counts of transporting minors with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. The indictment said he transported boys across state lines to do so.

If you or someone you know was a victim of Thompson, contact the FBI Chattanooga office at 423-265-3601. You may also report it on the FBI’s website.

Thompson is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
