EARLIER: An investigation is underway after officials found a body in the parking lot of a Marion County restaurant Sunday morning.

We reached out to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for more information. They sent us the following response:

At the request of 12th Judicial District Attorney General Courtney Lynch, TBI special agents are working alongside the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the circumstances leading to the death of a female whose body was found in the parking lot of a restaurant in the 1200 block of West Main Street in Monteagle on Sunday morning.

The TBI did not specify the name of that restaurant; however, we have been told by multiple viewers that it is called Mi Casa.

Her body has been sent for an autopsy, according to the TBI.

At this time, the investigation remains active and ongoing.
