From Local 3 News: UPDATE: Chattanooga Police responded to a fatal traffic crash involving a motorcycle at the 500 block of Interstate 75 Northbound.
Upon arrival, police found a 55-year-old female victim deceased.
The motorcyclist was driving northbound when heavy traffic stopped abruptly. The woman swerved into the next lane to avoid a collision but ended up hitting a car. She was thrown from the motorcycle, hitting another car as a result, CPD says.
As the crash is still being investigated, information is subject to change.

PREVIOUS STORY: A multiple-vehicle crash Saturday evening on Interstate 75 north of Shallowford Road closed the roadway for several hours.
The crash occurred at mile marker 5.6, according to the TDOT Smartway traffic system.
