Cherokee National Forest officials have scheduled the annual Hiawassee River clean up on the Ocoee Ranger District next Saturday, March 23. Registration for the event begins at 9 a.m. at the Quinn Springs Recreation Area.

 

Those who would like to participate can register from their vehicles, pull forward & receive trash bags. Trout Unlimited will also be hosting a cookout for participants at the end of the event.

 

Quinn Springs Recreation Area is located 1.5 miles on Highway 30, just south of the Hiwassee River & east off Highway 411. The turn off from Highway 411 is approximately six miles north of Benton and six miles south of Etowah.

 

The Cherokee National Forest encourages participants to wear long sleeve shirts, thick leather gloves, sturdy boots and safety glasses.
