From the Chattanoogan: Sixteen Life Care Centers in 11 states were included in Newsweek’s 2023 list of America’s Best Nursing Homes.

Newsweek based its Best Nursing Homes list on data from Statista Inc., a worldwide data research firm, and the rankings were determined using four criteria: a performance data score, a reputation score, a COVID-19 score and a score for facilities accredited by The Joint Commission.

More than 11,722 nursing homes in 25 states were analyzed, but only 475 facilities were awarded a rank on the 2023 list.

The Life Care facilities awarded a rank are located in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee and Texas.

“We are beyond proud of our facilities,” said Carol Hulgan, chief nursing officer of Life Care Centers of America. “What an honor it is to be nationally recognized by Newsweek. We (Life Care) strive to be the premier provider in every community in which we serve, and this shows our hard work and dedication to health care is paying off. I am blessed to work alongside the best champions of care in the long-term care industry. I would like to personally thank our residents’ families for trusting their loved ones to our care.”

Founded in 1976, Life Care is a nationwide health care company. With headquarters in Cleveland, Life Care manages nearly 200 skilled nursing, post-acute and Alzheimer’s centers in 27 states.
