The Bradley County School Board met last night.
Although the meeting Agenda was fairly light, Board members heard from Cope Architecture which is currently conducting a Capacity Study for the school system. While the final report is not complete, the discussion last night focused on explaining the process, the remaining steps yet to be completed, and what the board can expect in terms of a planning timeline.
The firm has met with the principals of each school and the officials with the City to get an understanding of growth patterns and future developments.
While the entire county has seen recent growth, the firm is working to find the areas where the most growth is occurring and future hot spots. The Board and School system hope this study will help them better prepare short and long-term strategies for school capacity issues.
Director of Schools, Dr. Linda Cash told the board she believes each Bradley County School will need Capital investment in the next 10 years and she hopes this study will aid in the planning and prioritization of future projects.
Cope Architecture hopes to have new information completed for the board by the September Meeting.
