Bradley County Election Commissioner, Fran Green, was arrested Tuesday night for refusing to submit to test and driving under the influence by Cleveland Police.

Officers responded to a Jeep in a ditch on Harrison Pike and Country Club Drive.

According to the report, officers found a woman in the driver’s seat but had trouble getting her to respond.

One officer also noticed a strong alcohol smell in the vehicle.

Officers claim Green was looking for her ID, which she had already provided to law enforcement, was unsteady on her feet, and had slurred speech. She admitted to authorities to having three beers.

Initially agreeing to sobriety tests, she later changed her mind and refused the test. She was then arrested for DUI.

Once at the Bradley County Justice Center, authorities say she claimed to have had approximately five drinks.

Green is scheduled to appear in court on June 13th.
