The Bradley County Commission met yesterday for a work session.

 

During the meeting, Mayor Gary Davis said the County has just over $171,000 remaining from the Opioid Settlement Fund. Five organizations in the community gave presentations to the commission requesting a portion of those funds for their organizations.

 

The Boys and Girls Club is requesting $30,000.

ATS the Bridge is requesting $85,000.

Foundation House Ministries is requesting just over $50,000.

The Caring Place is requesting $100,000

The Dream Center of Cleveland is requesting $60,000. 

 

Further discussions on the allocations of the funds will be held at the October Finance Committee meeting. 

 

Commissioners also heard a report from a recent SPCA Committee Meeting. There are currently 76 animals in care at the adoption center and another 41 in foster care. The shelter says it is currently at critical capacity.
