Robert Daniel Free was arrested on Tuesday, October 9th, and charged with Felony Criminal Littering after being caught and admitting to multiple instances of tire dumping in south Bradley County near Spring Place Road.
Following two previous reports of a suspicious vehicle and evidence of tire dumping, deputies located the vehicle in question on October 9th. The Black late 90’s model S-10 Pickup Truck was pulled over and the driver questioned. Robert Daniel Free (age 30) admitted to dumping tires he picked up from area tire stores to make extra money.
He was arrested for an outstanding warrant, and for possession of a stolen car tag. He is also being charged with one felony count of Aggravated Criminal Littering.

Autumn Hughes reports early voting ahead of the Nov. 6 Tennessee State General Election begins Wednesday at three locations in Bradley County.
Fran Green, Bradley County’s administrator of elections, said the early voting period is Oct. 17 through Nov. 1. Early voting hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Three early voting locations are available for the public’s convenience:
- Bradley County Election Commission Office, 155 Broad St. N.W., in downtown Cleveland.
- Bradley Square Mall, 200 Paul Huff Parkway N.W., Suite 114, beside Stadium BBQ & Grill.
- Former CVS storefront, 2651 APD 40, next door to Planet Fitness. This voting location replaces the mobile unit that had previously been stationed in the Food City parking lot on McGrady Drive.
Registered voters may cast ballots at any of the early voting locations during the early voting period through Thursday, Nov. 1. Those voting on Election Day — Tuesday, Nov. 6 — will vote at their assigned precinct. On Election Day, all precincts will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Green noted that one of the Saturdays during early voting — Saturday, Oct. 20 — is during the Cleveland Apple Festival in the downtown area, which will be fenced off for the paid-admission event. If you are going to the Election Commission Office just to vote, you will be allowed in, but unpaid festival entry for early voting is on the honor system. After you vote, you should not remain inside the festival for free.
In addition to the ballots for the State General Election, Cleveland city voters will also have the opportunity to decide whether to allow package stores — also known as liquor stores — in the city.

A family from Cleveland owns one of the few homes in a Florida town that is still standing after Hurricane Michael.
The home made it on the front page of the New York Times, Monday.
Family says they call their home the Sand Palace and that they specifically built it with storms like Michael in mind. Video from the Coast Guard shows it among the debris in Mexico Beach, Florida. Heather Lackey’s family finished building the house about five months ago.
There is only little damage on the outside of the home. For example, the stairs blew away. However, they were designed to, so that they wouldn’t rip off any more of the house.
