From Local 3 News: The Sweetwater Police Department responded to a deadly crash involving a train on Thursday.
It happened around 3:00pm at the intersection of Old Highway 68 and the Sweetwater Duck Park.
Police say Sharlotte Castillo-Wong, of Sweetwater, was stopped on the tracks during peak traffic hours and was unable to move out of the train’s way.
Despite the conductor’s efforts to stop the train, police say Castillo-Wong was hit by the train as she was trying to get out of the vehicle.
She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police Castillo-Wong’s family members have been notified.
