From the Cleveland Daily Banner: Two Cleveland men were among five arrested for allegedly soliciting minors during a prostitution sting conducted by the McMinn County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation in late July, according to The Daily Post-Athenian newspaper in Athens.

In addition, a Chattanooga woman was arrested for “offering her services.”

The sting operation, which took place over a multi-day period, resulted in the arrests of Ray Joseph Hammonds, 26, and Jesus Francisco Abonce, 50, both of Cleveland.

According to The DPA, the sheriff’s office and the TBI “set up an operation at a hotel in Athens and placed advertisements online for people seeking sex with what they thought were girls between 16 and 17 years old. In reality, the people who responded were in contact with adult female deputies.”
