Cleveland Police Department officers responded Monday to a call regarding a male who had been shot at 1407 Jones Avenue in Cleveland. The deceased victim was identified as Ricky Rogers, 57. Earl Maney, 81, was identified as the shooter and detained. Detectives learned that an argument occurred between Mr. Maney (the landlord) and the owners of a business at that location. The argument escalated into a physical assault between Mr. Maney and those parties. Mr. Rogers tried to intervene to stop the incident and was shot by Mr. Maney. Mr. Maney was transported to the Bradley County Judicial Complex and charged with First Degree Murder.

On Monday, Governor Bill Lee announced the order for Tennesseans to remain at home will expire April 30, with the vast majority of businesses in 89 counties allowed to re-open on May 1.
Some businesses will be able to open as soon as Monday, April 27th. These business will open according to specific guidance that will be provided in accordance with state and national experts in both medicine and business.
The Lee Administration will work with Shelby, Madison, Davidson, Hamilton, Knox and Sullivan counties and their health departments as they plan their own re-open strategies.

In Shelby County, there have been a total of 1,839 confirmed cases, with 657 recoveries and 35 fatalities.
