Lee University president Dr. Paul Conn has been re-elected to a new term, it was announced Tuesday by the chairman of the school’s board of directors.

The four-year term begins Aug. 1, and extends Conn’s tenure to July 2022.

Board chair Dennis Livingston, from Charlotte, N.C., made the announcement Tuesday in a press release following the board’s annual spring meeting on the Lee campus.

Conn was first elected to the Lee presidency in 1986, after serving 15 years on the faculty.

Livingston said the board action occurred during a weekend meeting which coincided with spring commencement activities on the Lee campus.  He said that Conn’s current four-year term began in August 2014.

A 2017 graduate of Bradley Central High School, and a former member of that school’s JROTC program, has been reported missing in Singapore while on duty with the U.S. Navy.

Seth Woods, 18, was reportedly last seen Monday at a Singapore 7-Eleven store, where he and a friend had disembarked their ship while in port.

The circumstances being reported and investigated say Woods’ friend went inside the store while Woods himself remained outside in a smoking area to vape. When the friend returned outside, Woods was reportedly gone.

Lt. Cmdr. Arlo Abrahamson, spokesperson for the U.S. Navy’s 7th Fleet in Singapore, said the Navy was aware of situation and is looking into the matter.
