The Cleveland/Bradley County Greenway is treasured for its beauty and convenience, and as a gathering spot.
Now, the sounds of the Greenway will join that list.
The city of Cleveland held a ribbon cutting for its new sound and lighting improvements for the Greenway Park Stage Wednesday morning.
A $50,000 grant from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development and the Appalachian Regional Commission was received by the city to help fund the new system. The city added $15,000 to complete the funding.
Cleveland Mayor Tom Rowland said the installation of the new system completes the plan for the stage.

The May 2018 Bradley County Primary Election has been certified by the Bradley County Election Commission.
Election commissioners met Wednesday to certify the election and hear an independent report about the tabulation procedure. They reviewed the election results and signed documentation on the election.

The time to fill those sacks of food and get them out to those most in need is just around the corner.
On Saturday, local postal carriers will make room in their vehicles for donations made to the National Association of Letter Carriers’ “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive.
This will be the 25th year of the country’s largest single-day food drive and has helped to deliver more than a billion pounds of food during its history.
The only restrictions are the items must be non-perishable, and there can be no glass containers. All of the food gathered for the drive will remain local.
Those with post office boxes can bring their donations to a special receptacle located at Cleveland’s U.S. Postal Service facility.
